Occupational Injuries and Illnesses by Selected Characteristics

The 2007 rate of nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses requiring days away from work was 122 per 10,000 full-time workers, 4 percent below 2006. The key measure of severity—median days away from work—was unchanged at 7 days. The 2007 rate of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) was 35 cases per 10,000 full-time workers, 9 percent below 2006. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) decreased 1.0 percent in October following very little change in September and August. The large October decline was the largest one month decrease since publication of seasonally adjusted changes began in February 1947. Full Text »
